This was kinda slow until the last 10 pages. Worth a read though.

Once you've read one Katee Robert book you've read them all. I liked the characters well enough, but the plot is only slightly different than any other KR book. I think after I finish her Deal With A Demon series I may take a step back from her books. They're fun and I actually think the writing is pretty good, but they're just way too repetitive at this point.

I absolutely despised being in Broderick's head. He was one of the worst romanced heroes I've ever read. If it wasn't for Monroe and Shiloh being a million times more interesting, this would have been 2 stars.

I didn't enjoy Broderick quite as much as Abel purely because of the characters. Monroe in particular felt a little under developed. We can see that she's a badass but I'd have liked more background as to where her confidence comes from. I can infer it from her upbringing but a bit more fleshing out would have helped. Broderick in general is just not my type. I can't with the self-pitying type and that's how he came off to me. So that's me, not the book. Shiloh was well-written and just enough.

Overall, 3 stars for me. 3 stars is good! I'll continue the series and I'm actually looking forward very very much to Cohen's story as well as how the events of Broderick will affect the overarching plot of Sabine Valley.

2.75 stars 🌟 another FMF story set up thanks to abel. i liked shiloh and broderick and i also liked shiloh and monroe. when it was all three of them together, their personalities didn't feel as authentic or as amazing.
