Der nette Nachbar war mir dann doch etwas "too good to be true"- zu gutaussehend, zu toll insgesamt.

The way that the other characters talk about the main character is just really gross - especially when it comes to commenting on her body. Lots of misogyny and fat phobia. Only finished it out of spite.

I think it did what it came to do, but it really wasn't for me.

And ofc, this did not come to be anything more than a short fun read :)

Maybe if I'd read it in english instead of listening to the german audiobook I'd liked it more, but who knows

After a bit of a slow start I really warmed to all the characters in 'Reading upside down'. The book surprised me at just how easy it was to read and the characters kept me hooked. The writing was funny, the romance was believable and I'd read more by Jo Platt again.

Definitely a book that I would recommend.

This book was… slightly underwhelming. It wasn’t a bad book though. The thing is, I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to continue reading and finding out what would happen with the characters. It was just that, well, not a lot really HAPPENED. Y’know?

The main character Ros, her friends and coworkers, and their misadventures all reminded me a bit of Bridget Jones’ Diary. It was really easy to read and not have to think too critically about the story. However, I do wish it were a little bit more eventful.

2.5 /5 stars if we’re being specific!

I had no clue going into this book on what it was mainly about or have read anything of the authors. But surprisingly, I thoroughly enjoyed it, hence 4 stars. It’s fast paced, witty and just a good romance book on heartbreak and crushes really. Different to other romance books I love reading but a very nice feel-good rom com like book. Highly recommend!

Such a light, heart-warming and feel-good book.
Love how she potrait the mental health issues and how is not focused in only one character development (specially since the story is not that deep).
The ending is not something out of this world but is cute,it is worth the reading.

LOVED IT!!

One of my favourite books in a while, so easy to read, didn't want to put it down. Loved the characters and got really invested in Ros & George.

Can't wait to read more of Jo's books..

Ros is not in a good place when we meet her. Not only did her fiance jilt her at the church, but her "came with the house" guinea pig, Mr Edward, has been killed in a rather unfortunate gardening accident.

I loved this book. I loved the characters (Ros has some great friends), I loved the lack of any major nastiness (jilting, pet death & a little unfaithfulness aside) and I loved the gentle humour that punctuates the narrative and dialogue.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I'll certainly be reading more.
