I studied it at school, I just had to read it and thank God I did. I loved this book, i loved this book with all my heart
it's so romantic and it's so well written, like poetry but in prose, I have so many new favorites quotes.

not a five star read simply because it's not my kind of book...? like it doesn't keep you glued to the pages, the writing is much more important than the plot and that's just not how I like it.
nevertheless, it's really good and I would really recommend everyone to read it at least once.

For a short book, this book felt like it lasted forever. It was drawn out and boring. It is about a young man who is obsessed with a married woman. Werther is whiny and unlikeable in my opinoin. The book is a collection of letters he has written to his friend. All the letters consist of are his going on and on about the woman he loves and how miserable he is because he cannot have her. Thumbs down. I do not recommend it.

I loved Goethe's style, and the not so subtle dashes of brilliant poetry, the story whatsoever, doesn't hook me. Writing is what gives life to the whole novel, but in my opinion, Werther's insanity and Lotte's indifference make it all sadder when you face the pages. Anyways, Goethe's beautiful writing deserves five stars, despite the somewhat boring and tedious storyline.

I gave it two stars bc I understand its importance to literature as a whole and the last part of the book when it was in 3rd person pov was entertaining, but honestly this book was a drag. To date it's probably the worst, most boring book I had to read for school.
