This book is triggering for anyone who grew up with narcissistic parents or experienced being a scapegoat for an extended period of time. Mary L. Trump, her father, and her brother, suffered under Fred Sr. and while this book sheds some light on how Donald Trump came to be, it ultimately is a sad and upsetting read.
Minus one star for a general lack of new material (most of this is public domain spare a handful of personal anecdotes) but four stars for putting the pieces together and finding meaning in the chaos.
