Oh boy where do I even start on this book....so I picked this up because I heard good things from some friends and it looked like a good summer read. I really enjoyed it for most of the book, but Belly frustrated me to no end. I have never encountered a more immature 16 year old and honestly her attitude is unrealistic. If a 16 year old acted like that in real life NOBODY would like them or even speak to them. So, yes ,Belly annoyed me a lot. I also guessed everything that would happen way ahead of time. I knew as soon as Belly made the comment about Conrad's mom being thin that she had cancer again. Then Conrad went through the cliche rebel phase. Although,I really enjoyed that Belly got a boyfriend (well somewhat) as that was different. As I got closer to the end I was waiting for the big reveal about the mom having cancer and the two love speeches. I knew right away Jeremiah was going to give one, but I was unhappy of how he did it. Literally he just came out and said it, and the timing was bad. They hadn't even had any moments and he was just like oh listen by the way I love you. NO NO NO. I would have liked it if they had some type of moment and then he confessed his love for her. Then before we know it, Belly ran off to Conrad to confess her love AND SHE DID THE SAME THING. She was like Conrad I've loved you since I was ten. then of course a huge argument conspired, and we finally learn of the mothers cancer. By this point I was furious, as I had been hoping for something cute and not just being blurted out. It wasn't even like a spontaneous 'I just realized I love him after we've had all these moments together' type of speech. I didn't FEEL anything when these love confessions occurred. Slowly the book redeemed itself a bit until the last chapter....literally what the heck. I wish it had said epilogue and not just another chapter. But she just like got in his car ?? What even just happened. So yeah anyways I will continue to read this series as the first book was okay. Not outstanding but okay. I think the rest of the series can possibly redeem itself *crosses fingers for a lot of character development* but this was a pretty easy read and I'm kind of looking forward to see how the rest of the series goes.

I thought this book was mediocre at best. The beginning middle and near end were all meaningless in my opinion, it literally felt so generic and just useless. Not a thought provoking not even romantic. Just whining, all the boys whining about Belly whining. That was the entire sum of the book. The end was horrifically sad which thank christ for because it’s the only time this book ever moved me. I would give it one star but i ended up finishing the book so i guess it wasn’t as horrific as im making it seem. Just god awful.

A fast, easy read that keeps you on the edge of your seat
A very enchanting story.
I can understand having a crush on two brothers at one point, but for YEARS girl? Pick one!
I felt bad for Jeremiah.
While the writing was very young, it was very well written!
You feel like you are seeing the story through 12-year-old eyes, which is both very annoying and reflecting.
That cliff hanger was vile and I need more!!

This was a quick, easy read. A little on the young side for me, but cute none the less. I'll continue with the series though since I already have the books on my shelves.

Cute YA novel that does a good job of depicting teenage romance. Compulsively readable and no outright dislikes, but the story is juvenile and the plot/characters are not unique. Would have probably loved it if I was a teen/intended audience.
