Very interesting biography of a black woman born and raised in Brockport, NY. She didn't see racism or prejudice until she moved to the south. She became a pioneer for black and women's rights, yet when she tired of the work and grew old, she returned to Brockport.

Having lived in SC for 5 years, this resonated with me because I saw differences there compared to where I grew up in the ADKS and then here in Brockport and Rochester, NY. It is hard to understand why people cannot let go of such a subtle difference... skin color alone.
