With well developed characters sharing a past full of heartbreak and loss, this is a sweet story of love lost and found. If you want a contemporary romance holiday story, but don’t have a lot of time, this might be worth the read.

Graham attend's a book signing of his niece's favorite author to get her a book for Christmas. The author, Grace is Graham's ex-wife.

A snowstorm has other plans for these two. It gives them the opportunity to talk and clear up some unresolved issues.

They realize they still have very deep feelings for each other. A tragedy torn them apart in the past. Can they heal and have a future together or do they forgive and move on...

This is a wonderful, warm, secondary chance at love.

Second chance holiday romance FTW!
Can't Miss Christmas takes place in Ms. Liasson's Mirror Lake world (as does her Spikonos Brothers series) but introduces two brand new characters, temporarily stranded from out of town so it would work for people new to the series as well as those who are waiting for the last Spikonos brother to come back into town (which he may or may not have done here... ;)) The glimpses we get of Mirror Lake/Spikonos Brothers characters are fleeting, so really, this is great as both a standalone romance and a teaser for other books you'll probably be adding to your TBR in the future.

Plus, holiday romance! (Did I mention? ;))

is a quick read, so it's perfect for when you're busy with holiday stuff/NaNoWriMo/regular life but just need a quick pick-me-up. Grace and Graham were married once but their responses to a shared tragedy and some misunderstandings pulled them apart. It's Christmastime, though, and a surprise encounter, a snowstorm, Mother Nature, and the town of Mirror Lake all conspire to bring them back together. Is it too late?

(Spoiler alert: of course not! The magic of Christmas and second-chance romance to the rescue!)

A sweet read whether you're new to Ms. Liasson's books or already a fan.

Rating: 4 stars / B+

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Graham Walker is remembering times gone by. Grace Alberts has a job that I wish I were creative enough to do. But can it replace what she’s lost? It didn’t take me long getting drawn into this story where our two main characters have history.

Now that Halloween has come and gone we are on our way to the busiest time of year. Sometimes it gets hard to find the time to sit down and read a book. This is what is good about reading a novella. You don’t need a lot of time to get the story read and can still have time to get other things done. It also gives you a moment to slow down and enjoy something that’s going to take you out of your world for a little while. But as you sit and read you may want to keep some tissues handy. A tragedy tore our couple apart but it also had a way of bringing them back together.

I have not read any of this author’s Moon Lake series and that’s ok since this is a standalone. But I did feel as if I was missing something for not having read the previous books. When we go on vacation, we don’t always know about the towns we pass through. But some towns have an affect on us and we decide we need to take a look around. This book has me looking forward to learning more about Moon Lake. What’s good about this time of year where we start to read the holiday books coming out is that you might discover a new series. You might also discover a new author, maybe reconnect with an author you haven’t read in a while, and maybe even discover a book that you want to read more than once.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Sometimes love just isn't enough, as Grace Alberts and Graham Walker found. Sometimes tragedy is more than two people can withstand, and, even deep feelings just won't hold things together. Although they've gone their separate ways, finding themselves in the same place at Christmas opens up all sorts of old feelings. Maybe it's that Christmas magic...

Second-chance love and a holiday read?! Sign me up! As an unapologetic fan of both Christmas and finding love a second time, CAN'T MISS CHRISTMAS by author Miranda Liasson hit all the marks, and did not disappoint.

Graham and Grace are charming and quirky, and obviously still harbor lasting feelings for each other. Their relationship moves pretty smoothly back into comfortable territory, and once they find themselves riding out a pre-Christmas storm in Mirror Lake, Connecticut, they've got nothing but time to figure out just how comfortable. The residents of Mirror Lake are wonderfully unique, and accept the visitors as part of their town with no ceremony whatsoever, and make it really easy for the town and Christmas to work their magic.

CAN'T MISS CHRISTMAS is a novella in Miranda's Mirror Lake series, but even though I had not read the previous books, I fell right into the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, which kicks off my annual holiday romance fest, and happily recommend it for fans of holiday reads. Bonus, I also got to meet some folks that I'd like to go back and visit very soon.

I have read a few Miranda Liasson books lately and she is becoming one of my new favorites.

This was a quick and enjoyable Christmas novella. You were able to feel the characters love and emotions. They had a tragedy in their lives and neither could comfort the other so they parted ways. The need to get somewhere during a snowstorm put them together again and they were able to reconnect again. I love second chance stories and this one is good.

I received a copy from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
