Still top 5 favorite books I have ever read.
Honestly, probably top 3.
I have over 20 unread books on my bookshelf and yet I just always reread this one :-)

The second book of the ACOTAR series and the hype for this one is legit! I love it so much! I love the characters and how it was written. I got to travel again to a world beyond what I know. It felt so magical turning each page. I love the way the plot twists unexpectedly but excitingly! I love the first person POV here. I will surely continue to read this series. Thanks @sarahjmaas for this wonderful experience. ❤️

Book two! I’m SO GLAD I continued reading this series after the first book. The second we got away from Tamlin I started to enjoy the characters and the dialogue and the plot in general a million times more than I had with the first book in the series.

I love Rhys. I loved Rhys in the first book, for what limited bits we got of him, and it was an absolute JOY to find out that he was the main focus (along with Feyra, obviously) for this novel. We love the High Lord of the Night Court and will accept no slander of him in this house. The fact that he allowed Feyra all of the freedoms she desired, even when it was a potential danger not only to her but to him as well, speaks VOLUMES about the sort of person he is, especially in the world he’s a part of. He had every chance to turn out cruel and possessive, and very intentionally chose otherwise.

The other members of his court/his circle of close friends are all absolute gems as well. Cassian, Morrigan, Amren, and Azriel are a fantastic group as a whole, and the more we learn about them individually, the more I want a book of each of their backstories because I can’t possibly get enough of them! Cassian and Mor specifically, though that could just be because we get more of them than the others as of now.

I think the amount of action in this novel is in a pretty good balance with the romance and general life plots happening along the way. The training scenes to build up Freya’s powers and defenses are also a welcome addition to the flow of the story, and another wonderful emphasis on Freya coming into her own powers in a way Tamlin never would’ve allowed her to.

I can’t speak on too much of the plot without major spoilers, but after reading the way this novel ended I’m more invested than ever to see what happens next with where things ended.
