A powerful novel that more people need to read. Johnson doesn’t hold back when discussing BLM and how the system is against people of color. Tracey came across as a regular teen but dedicated to getting her father out. The events leading up to the end were excellent from start to finish.

Powerful perspective of another person's experience. Some of the things felt a bit of a stretch - unconnected to the racism element. I felt that the book slightly insinuated blacks and whites will never be able to understand one another which made me sad. But I'm on the privileged side of that, so I don't want to necessarily argue that. But if it's true, how sad.
