From the first chapter I was intrigued. By the second I was enraptured, and by at least the 5th I was fully obsessed. I started the book this morning and I’ve already finished it. I was sucked so deep into this world that I didn’t even notice the time pass by. I’m absolutely obsessed with this book. Everything from the characters to the setting and plot draws you in and keeps you there. Absolutely love this book

DARK romance. Includes ritualistic sex scenes, NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED.

I loved the Silence of the Lamb meets criminal minds vibe I was getting from this book. I was sucked in from page one and I couldn't put it down, but I did need to sleep.  It had me guessing and I really didn't see any of the twists coming. And man that ending had me wanting the next book ASAP, it ended on a cliffhanger-ish so be warned. I would definitely check CW/TW, to name a few graphic murder, animal death, Miscarriage, and nonconsent consent. Now I am off to wait for the next book to come out.

'Most obsessions start small, harmless. A tiny niggle in the back of your mind, an innocent fixation. The obsessive thought crawls under our skin and we begin to pick and pick until the desire overwhelms us and we have no choice but to tear into it, claws raking and drawing blood.'

Halen is investigating a murder and needs to enlist the help of a psychopath, Kallum. The pair are drawn to each other and Kallum appears to be obsessed with her from the start. Not everything is as it appears however.

For once I didn't see the plot twist coming and loved it. Also love a good enemies to lovers romance.

However, the writing style at times felt a little much, as though the author was trying too hard to sound 'deep'. How Kallum spoke annoyed me at times, he didn't speak like a real person, psychopath or not.

Overall enjoyed it.
