I had been looking for this book for a while, after thoroughly enjoying its prequel. I stumbled across a copy in London and I've finally got around to reading it. The book is enjoyable, but pales in comparison to 'Little Brother'. Whereas 'Little Brother' was heavy on story with some technical explanation, the sequel is the opposite. The actual thread of the story is very small and the ending to me was a bit of an anticlimax. However if you like descriptions of new tech, and the minutiae of the hacker and moding worlds then you'll like this book. There seemed to be about two pages of technical description for each one that moved the story forward. While the technical description was in some cases fascinating, other times you were left scratching your head as to why (2-3 pages on the pros and cons of different ways of making coffee!!). I think that Cory Doctorow generally does a great job as an author of writing speculative fiction. In this case I wish there had been a little more of the fiction.

Abrupt ending that was not satisfying at all.

Reading the second book in the Little Brother (Cory Doctorow novel) series, and its seriously making me want to become a badass-computer-hacking-super-ninja.

I really like this one. Doctorow's tone is a bit too "awesome dude!" at times and Marcus is annoyingly self-righteous a bit too often, but it wouldn't be as good if he didn't have any flaws.
