First of a five part series, a fantasy written for young people is engaging enough, whilst being fairly predictable in its content.
The good nature of the style outweighs this though and it is a good start to the series, although as it seems in many of these fantasy series not a lot actually happens, and there is always a bit of padding in them.
It was worth a read, this week I hope to read the whole series.

I loved this entire series and spent one of my whole Christmas's finishing them. The stories are really fun and the characters are just a joy. This is a book I will definetly re-read while in quarintine!

Wow I really enjoyed this book. The age range is probably 9 to 13, but it captures my attention. The adventure and fantasy are woven together masterfully. Each of the four main characters are well developed and give someone for any child to identify with. I am excited to see where the series goes in the next four books.

This book is written for young adults, and though I tend to still read young adult books this was still a bit young for me. However, it was still an interesting read and seems perfect for getting a young reader interested in reading and in adventure/fantasy type books.

This a fantasy book. Four children on a quest. I was worried it would be too scary for my sensitive 6 year old but she loved it. I read this to the family which includes a 9 yr old girl and 4 yr. old boy. There was a lot of “one more chapter please” from each of them. I liked this book as much as the children and I read a lot of children’s books. Trust me, they aren’t all as exciting as this one was. Well written and we will be most definitely be reading the other books in this series.

I absolutely loved this!! This is a superb entry into a 5 book series.
Just be warned to have all 5 books when you start as you will chew through this page turner in no time.
The main characters are well developed, interesting and work well together.

I can't wait to read this to my sons and my class and the reaction only children have when stepping into a new wonderland.

ok gotta go read part 2.

Well done Kate Forsyth!!
