This book did not need to be this long.
SpoilerThey were together by 30% and after that point it just dragged.
It dragged so much that by 50% I was ready to dnf out of boredom.

After I read Manacled, I didn't want to read another Dramione fanfiction. But the longer I thought about it, the more I wanted to experience Dramione again. This was recommended by @thebiglittlelibrary and I am so glad I gave it a try. Personally, the story itself would be rated 4 stars. It was very long and at times, it really dragged on. I appreciate how it was a story of their lives, healing, and growth into their love for one another. But I'm giving it that extra 1 star because of how well it was written. Manacled was the first fanfiction I had ever read and I was amazed at how well it was written and thought through. I feel the same for this story as well. This book is the opposite of what Manacled was and I still loved it. I love how it had that element of darkness because of their traumas but it was so much lighter (if that makes sense). I love that a majority of it was from Draco's POV. I love Draco and Hermione's relationship and how it grew from mere acquaintances to becoming soul-bonded. I could feel their love and affection and attraction from how the author wrote this story. Draco's growth was so wholesome to read. There was a point where I felt that Draco was only "healed" because he felt that Hermione "fixed" him. But as the story came to its conclusion, I changed that opinion. I still feel like that element is still present but it changed with one quote when he is telling Hermione his vows: "But you made me want to try to carve out a place for myself that I'd earned through my own contributions, with my own deeds, with my own name... and I think that I've mostly succeeded in becoming a good man." I love how Draco grows from needing Hermione and hating himself to being able to see himself in a new way because of how Hermione views him. I also love Hermione's relationships with Ginny, Harry, Ron, and the Weasleys. I was so sad when I was reading Manacled because of how isolated Hermione was from her closest friends so this aspect of Remain Nameless made me so happy. Draco's inner monologue was also unexpectedly funny at times: the way he calls Ginny She-Weasel or Weaslette, and Ron the Weasel, or Harry "The Boy Who Doesn't Know How to Die nor Comb His Hair." I really loved this book, the story, the spice, and their love. I'm glad he read it and I am now an official Dramione stan.
