This one had more twists and excitement than the pervious books. Solid 4/5.

Completely different from the others so far in the series, because Kinsey gets emotionally attached. Still good, but I didn't really like Bibianna that much, so I didn't much care what happened to her.

I think this was the best of the series so far. I did figure out the "twist", but still really enjoyed the entire story and the way she built the tension and conflict. I appreciate how Grafton continues to grow through the series. Mary Pfieffer is a great reader as well. I know there is a change of readers later in the series and the new reader has large shoes to fill.

H is for Homicide is the 8th book/case in the Kinsey Millhone (Alphabet Series) by Sue Grafton.
YES! This is just what we needed after 7 similar cases.. a little bit of ‘spice’!
In this case; Kinsey is PLAYING THE PART! After the murder of her longtime friend (who happens to be an insurance claims adjuster), Kinsey runs into a substantial insurance scam. Kinsey takes on the case completely and goes undercover! I liked this listen a lot and I wasn’t expecting the ending..LAPD! Dang!

I'm working my way through the series and so far this is my least favorite.
I still love Kinsey and her no-nonsense feminist personality, but the plot wasn't as exciting as the others. I thought H is for Homicide would be the easiest letter to adapt for detective fiction, but maybe the possibilities were too wide open.
Also, I didn't appreciate the stereotype of the "Vatos Locos" gangsters. I guess that's the risk of reading older popular works. Eventually, you run across some problematic themes.
