My absolute favorite book! I love the reality tv show theme as well as the character development we are able to see from D'Vaugn. I also love how Kris was persistent (but not is n a creepy way) with expressing her desire to have a relationship with D'Vaugn. The underlying theme of family support is also great the Zavalas accepted D'Vaugn with open arms and D'Vaugns mom had great growth.

Haven't been much in the mood for romance lately and this one wasn't grabbing me at all. It's not on my physical TBR, either, so I'd rather focus on reading a book from there. Maybe one day I will try again!

Mild spoilers below...

I thought this was a cute fun read. I think I'm just not super into the insta-love trope. Them falling madly in love within a few weeks just didn't seem believable to me as it seems like the only time we see them together alone they are either talking about strategy or banging. That being said I loved the moments with both their families and D'Vaughn coming out to her family. A lot of times coming out stories tend to have sad endings or be long drawn out paths to acceptance for the parents and I liked that this one showed the more loving side but also discussed the issue of "knowing" and not saying anything.

I have to say I really struggled with all the mentions of D'Vaughn's nervous tick... I didn't need to hear about her "nibbling her bottom lip" or "chewing on her lip" or "sucking on her bottom lip" or "worrying her lip". Or Kris "freeing the abused lip" and "scolding her" for chewing on it. So many mentions of chewing on her lip that it made me a bit sick to my stomach lol. Not great for people with skin picking issues...

CW: brief mentions of weight loss/size, one scene involves public sex, mentions of the topic of infidelity, inner monologue of anxiety/second hand anxiety
