Overall, a good book! especially for someone who hasn’t read any disability theory/studies. The author tries his best to use plain language and give brief definitions but it can be a bit difficult to keep up with certain terminology. Some of the examples are a bit dated which is expected since this book was published in 2017

The introductory chapter contains a lot of information. The author discusses the ties that colleges and mental institutions have together as well how colonization and eugenics puts things into perspective. The chapters after the introductory are more disability focused. Personally, I felt there could be more expanded upon physical disability or being more direct about the various forms of disability. The last chapter discusses college life in film. Near the end, there is the topic of sexual assault and “rape culture” on college campuses and society in general.

The parts I understood changed my life, unfortunately, I didn't understand all that much. 
But seriously, read this(!) but also, be aware of the (surprise) academic vocabulary.

This book was so illuminating. However, I don't think the author succeeded in keeping his language accessible. A lot of it is quite academic.
