Well. That was…something. The stereotypes in this book are astounding…you can definitely tell it was written in the early 70’s. Also, there are only like 2 redeeming parts in the whole story. The outer space part is super weird and not even guaranteed to give you a solid giggle. This book is above and beyond bonkers, even for Dahl.

couldn't stand the blatant racism and it was just so different than the first one. Should have stayed in the chocolate factory.

What did I just read??
In all seriousness, though, it is very clear why the first book in this duo is the famous one, and this one is rather forgotten.

This book didn’t quite age well. It’s not atrocious, but it didn’t need to exist.
