Tension filled romance with a harrowing beginning and a “how will they overcome that?” thread.

I don’t really know how I feel about this book. I liked the idea but I didn’t really like the execution.
The writing style just wasn’t for me: Helen wants grant to leave. So she tells him. Grant decides to stay.
That kind of writing style is just not my cup of tea.
Also the first part of the book I thought Grant
intentionally murdered Michelle by the way Helen kept talking about it. So I was a little thrown that she would still fall for him. When I found out what really happened at the night of Michelle’s death I could get behind it. He was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The spicy parts I liked because they were so normal compared to other books where it’s always the most earhshattering blow your mind orgasm.

i have to stop reading bad books. i can sum this entire story up in this one paragraph: "he's my sister's murderer but I'm in love with him. it's time for the third act break up! nah, let's get back with him now. yay!"

incredibly weird pacing for the development of both characters and it was weird how she kept bringing up how she was "falling in love with her sister's murderer" but alas! he was too hot and charming! also did not understand the character descriptions or even understand certain motivations, especially when Grant was described as charming. he had no personality and was just flat and boring. Helen was also irritating as a main character and the third act made me want to drop this novel. Their "love" did not make any sense and just felt like lust.
