The storyline and women on the ship saved this book, but I never want to read about this world ever again. The fact that there are 19+ of these books cracks me up. I need to read reviews ASAP!!

This was so fun to read I’m not even embarrassed to rate it this high. Rocky opening that needs a content warning but beyond that there’s sexy shenanigans and a hilarious protag that’s actually relatable. For all the ones who watched Avatar and thought of the possibilities. ✨

read this because i wanted to know what the absolute fuck was going on. i’d seen the memes, and curiosity got me.
but holy shit. i had such a fun time.

anyone reviewing this like it’s meant to be incredibly serious mind-blowing sci-fi literature is missing the point.
this is just a silly goofy time.

bonus points for endless star wars references. it’s what george would want.

Hmmmm. I was hoping to like this but I didn't have the best time. Setting the stakes so high in the beginning makes the unfortunately genre typical lapses in consent way less bearable. I did like the comedic elements and the spice but overall there were too many tropes that were very much not for me.

Quick and simple read. It has a main focus of the relationship between Georgie and Vektal, so that is where the majority of the content is. I wouldn’t say I ever found myself rooting for it against them, but I was curious to see what would happen next.

The book includes just enough world building to explain how the characters got into the current situation. I found this a little frustrating because although it makes sense that this is all the characters would know ( and it is dual first person POV), I still found myself wanting to know more about space travel and how the different planets in the galaxy work. Like you never actually learn anything about the aliens that abduct the women, it’s all speculation and not very in-depth speculation at that.

The relationship is very much male takes care of female to reproduce. There is not any exploration into an intellectual connection or a deep emotional connection. I didn’t find that stopped the smut from being compelling, but I also don’t care if they break up or one of them dies.

Although not really explored in the actual text, the story does touch on the difficulties of trying to navigate two completely different cultures with a real communication barrier. If humans were to interact with aliens one day, it is very possible to have conflicting cultural norms. A heinous crime in one could be an expected custom in another, so how does one ethically navigate that interaction? I don’t know but interesting to think about.

This was my first Alien romance, so at first I was like It was a fun read, I did not take this book seriously. so I think I gave it a 2.5 stars. Now I'm kind of down this rabbit hole where I absolutely love these books.
