Was it bad? Absolutely. Was it also entertaining and ridiculous? Of course.

I was in the mood for a silly head empty book and was finally wore down enough to start this series. The opening act almost immediately being SA is giving a teenager writing their first “edgy” fanfic, but in true tumblr form I trudged through that and overall it was essentially exactly what I expected from an alien romance novel recommended to me by TikTok.

Terrible writing. A lot of rape. I was not prepared for that.

This is exactly what I expected it would be (okay maybe not the SA at the beginning. Could have lived without that).
Is this book good? No. Is it entertaining? Definitely.

This was a fine background listen, but I either needed it to be a deeper, more extended romance plot or more graphic smut... like, I just needed one of them to be more in depth than either were.

The plot was actually interesting enough, it was just a very fast relationship development and felt like only the intro to a story, not a whole book's worth of a story.

I dunno, it was all fine I just wanted more intensity.

Reading this book is a way to get time to pass. I picked up this book expecting some smut, but there's barely any plot beyond "oh god this alien is strange and hot" -smut. The concept of fated mates is strong in this book. I guess there is some potential plot intrique of getting to know a foreign surrounding and culture in a kidnap escapee situation, but really, if smut is not your thing, you won't get anything out of this book.

TLDR: Silly and sexy and dumb in all the right ways. Like cotton candy in book form.

Other than the rape in the first chapter, which seems to be a misguided attempt to establish stakes, this is a goofy, fluffy, funny little novel that is exactly what you would expect from the cover and title. Human women get stranded on ice planet, one of them gets picked up by a 7-foot-tall blue alien who sees her as his mate, hilarity and sexual escapades ensue.

The locals have very few women, so they're thrilled, which could have gone in a terrible direction, but they're all very respectful and consenty and concerned that their ladies are probably going to die because they're so soft and weak. It's a species of Wife Guys, but like, in a good way.

I'm not super into the pregnancy angle at the end or the fact that the main pair are scientifically fated to be mated, but again, the book is generally so silly and such an obvious fantasy that it's hard to be mad.
