I'm normally not into reading murder mysteries, but this book really drew me in. All of the characters are well developed with real flaws and idiosyncrasies. The plot was easy to follow, but not easy to guess the outcome.

I really liked the book, but all the diet culture bullshit really took me out of it.

Main character Dale is depicted as unhealthy anxious about his weight and is often really hard on himself for it. In any given scene he will probably be telling himself off for being hungry or wanting to eat and will threaten himself with being restricted to a diet of "bugs and gravel" if he indulges.
