Mafia dark romance. Typical you touch her and die. It’s a good read, but the overall story wasn’t a big page turner. It seemed that the whole story was how Eva belonged to Derek. END OF STORY. Murder, revenge, spice, it’s got it all. Trigger warning the murder scenes are very detailed. It’s a quick read and very fast paced. He do anything for Eva, don’t you forget it.

I feel like the book could’ve been shorter. I still enjoyed it, spice was 10/10.

This dark romance grabbed hold of me and would not let go. The action and violence was captivating, the characters were dynamic and the spice was spicy.

I loved Eva and Derek. I loved how obsessed Derek was. He is the ultimate “touch her and die” MMC. His red flags were flying and I ignored every single one. He was the darkest shade of morally grey, but he would burn the world down for Eva, so we forgive him.

Eva struggled with her love for Derek. As a cop, finding out who Derek actually is was a shock. She had to decide if he was worth compromising her morals to be with.

The action in this book was dark but exciting. Every scene pushed the plot and showed us who the characters were.

The plot was lost a little in the middle of the book and smut took over, but I didn’t really mind. The smut was fun and spicy.

For a debut novel, this book was fantastic.

The conflict is pretty flat. Spice level was high, but not enough to make up for the lack of compelling character growth.

The red flags on this man are certainly red flagging.

I can't help but ignore the very loud read flags of the creation of this couple. However, the trope of "touch her and die" simply hits a cord in my soul and I can't stop my self from just devouring the story. Eva and Derek are truly made for each other and you can't help but cheer them on as a reader. I almost wanted more out the ending... not that it wasn't enough, but I literally just wanted the story to keep going. Additionally for a dark romance, I felt as though the violence and gore was not too much and so it was all very palatable (I would alway read trigger warnings for your own preferences). I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I have been anticipating this book for months now! I’m so happy I was finally able to read it. I was blown away by the spice and the plot. I love that both worked together and tied into the story nicely. You didn’t get all spice without plot or vise-versa.
Derek makes it easy to fall in love with him and so does Eva. They’re bond hit right from the start.
Maybe I missed it while reading, but I’m super curious to what affairs Eva’s god father/Derek’s bio father did.
Over all this was a fantastic debut for Elle. I can’t wait to read more books from her. I will be purchasing a physical copy at some point to add on my shelf of top reads!!
