3.5 stars ✧
despite a simple half star improvement, this was much better than the first book which had left me unimpressed to say the least considering the surrounding hype.
gianna was truly that bitch, and agent allistar ... jesus christ phew ...
they really made elena and nico look like the bland, unseasoned vegan chicken that they are, but i'm sure no one's ready for that conversation.
i'm not sure what kind of crack lori laces with her writing but it's really so addictive and entertaining. i'm here for it.
#1 the sweetest oblivion — 3 stars ✧
#2 the maddest obsession — 3.5 stars ✧
#3 the darkest temptation — tbr

I can see why so many people gave this a five star review.
It was hot, the characters, while more grey, was enjoyable to read. I liked Gianna. She was fun to read. She somehow always wore her heart on her sleeve and always managed to come across as a sweetheart. Christian was hot, more than a little obsessed but somehow had boundaries. Go figure. He said a lot of things but did very little in my opinion.
It was angsty and very steamy. The little bits of comedic relief was a welcome addition. I like that this was book was less depressing and had more interesting characters.
They why couldn't I give it five stars? Well a few things but mainly I wanted more from Christian's POV than his therapy that wasn't therapy. I finished reading and just felt unsatisfied of how didn't get more of Christian.

Love is an obsession. Some would even say . . . the maddest obsession.
giannachristian are love. giannachristian are life.
