This book was absolutely excellent and this series is shaping up to be one of the best YA fantasy series I have read in a long time. What I loved so much about The Prison Healer was the characters and this book obviously had this continuation while throwing them all into the court politics of this world. This mix of strong characters and court politics in a fantasy book is a winner for me every time. I again found the story incredibly addicting and I become totally absorbed back into this world. This book was even stronger than the first instalment so I cannot wait to see where the final book takes us.

I need the sequel but i’m also so scared. Can I also just say the Juren is literally one of the sweetest guys i’ve read about. And caldon is both funny and smart and clever. I flew through this book and am excited for the final book in this trilogy.

these characters feel so flat and one-dimensional and I’m really not interested in the story

This kept my blood boiling, and very intense, the first one was good this one was better, with a lot of action and mystery, the authors managed to make me hate a specific person in here, I literally had to stop reading to calm down but I couldn't stop reading it.

In this book we see more character development e get to know better each character and their perspectives throw our main character's notion.
The plot is fascinating I regret taking so long to read it was refreshing and intense.
