A nice way to frame some self-reflection and to ask questions about what you believe about yourself and why. There is probably some amount of confirmation bias at work here but we should pull back and ask ourselves why we want to believe certain things that we are told about ourselves (and why we don't want to believe other things that we are told about ourselves). My disappointment with this book is that it only really focuses on sun, moon, and ascendant. I had hoped to do some more learning about astrology and don't feel like I learned as much as I was hoping. I will go on to look at trines, sextiles, squares, etc more now but I will have to find more books about that as well as more detail about houses. A good bridge between basic understanding and wanting to know more.

Overly hyped & left lacking- more of a memoir & only speaks of sun, moon, & ascendant.

Good. I really enjoyed it overall, the one fault for me was that all planet and placement combos weren’t given their own paragraph. I had very few personal placements that were written about. Overall thought the info was accessible and well written.

How I rate books:
5 Stars= I absolutely loved it, felt very moved. Extraordinary. Maybe I cried. I rarely give this rating.
4 Stars= Well done. I was well engaged.
3 Stars= I enjoyed it but wasn't wowed. My most common rating
2 Stars=Meh
1 Stars= The kind of book that I feel shouldn't have been published be it might discourage some from becoming readers.

Great first introduction to reading your birth chart. By focusing on 3 important areas of the chart the author keeps it in a space that isn’t overwhelming although it is already a lot to take in. As a beginner I really liked how astrology was approached here. For someone experienced in reading birth charts this might be too much at an entry / basics / 101 level

Like all astrology books, I addictively flip through them. This one was no different. What I love about this one is that it gives you prompting questions and affirmations that I will continue to work through at a deeper level. It also gave me a very readable explanation of the foundations of astrology. I also can’t help but keep picking it up because the cover looks so slick.
