Loved it

Absolutely loved this book and the characters. There is a lot of plot, family and romance. Which leaves you wanting to read the next one. Lily is an amazing women with so much heart and can't turn anyone away with Mario who is a perfect match for her.

This novel is as light and breezy as a spring day while still dealing with some harsh truths about child abuse and neglect. The main character, Lily, is all heart as she meanders directionless through life collecting abused teenage girls like baseball cards. Barely making ends meet with the salary from her part time job attempting to feed and house six runaway girls, Lily meets a handsome stranger who offers to help her become a legitimate foster mom. However, Lily is reluctant to put her trust in the system, which has failed these girls several times already, and she is equally reluctant to trust this man who seems too good to be true. By the end of this novel, you'll be inspired to go do some good yourself.

Predictable, but a quick and easy read, and I like the topic (helping abused/runaway teens).

This story quickly held my interest - Lily is a wonderful character with a huge heart. I loved how she wanted so much to give the girls she was helping a home where they would feel safe and that was full of the things she missed growing up, despite her wealthy parents. She is determined to do all she can, despite many odds against her.
The romance in the story was sweet and Mario/Jameson was also a strong and likable character. The girls all had their own unique personality and could probably each have a story focusing on them too! I've never dealt with the foster care system, so I don't know how realistically everything was portrayed, but overall it was very inspiring and made me more aware of trying to reach out to those around me.

Though this book is a romance, it is also so much more. There is inspiration and compassion and hope for the world and those that are lost within it. It follows the story of Lily, who started helping out runaways at a young age, even though her parents discouraged the idea and wanted to control her life. She is a strong and independent young woman who knew how she could change the world for the better and did just that.

I thought she seemed a little young to be doing everything she was doing, but I guess when you have your heart set on doing something for most of your life, being young doesn't stop you. I also thought the little romance moved quickly, and though Mario Jameson was a very sweet guy, I felt uneasy about some of his choices and the speed of their relationship. But hey, this is just a book, and why can't love come quickly?

Overall, it was fun to read, and a bit different than books I usually read. It makes me feel like I can do something positive in this world by helping others, even if it seems small to me, it could be a big difference.

It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, so even though there is a sequel, you won't be dying to read it to find out what happens with Lily and the girls!
