Skimmed through and only read the stories I was interested in but I enjoyed learning about the backstories to some of my favorite horror films.

I had high hopes for this, but ever chapter reads like a wikipedia entry for the movie. The details are cursory, do next to no analysis, and just give the most surface of details. This makes for a very boring reading experience.
To make matters worse, I feel like the movies selected were often dated and very similar.
Do yourself a favor, and just look up articles on famous horror movies based on true stories, it will read more concise and quicker then this book.

The real life stories behind our most famous horror films. Not for the faint of heart, as there is a lot of graphic detail that needed to be told so there’s an understanding of why an incident was adapted to the silver screen the way that it was, and all the parts left out to appeal to an audience.
I recommend you read this around Halloween. Perfect to get you freaked out and paranoid in time for the festivities.

Wonderful book! No complaints.
I don’t think I knew anything in here before reading, BUT I’m no movie buff or true crime enthusiast.
The author was very clear in his writing and the stories held my attention. It was neatly organized. I think this would make an awesome gift for horror lovers!
