Ava and Alex both have some CPTSD and it adds to the very DARK romance they find with each other. I am not a fan of possessive/borderline abusive behavior so Alex was definitely a turn off. He is possessive, manipulating and gas lights Ava which is something Ava has struggled with her whole life from her dad.

It was hard for me to buy into the romance, this story helped me realize I do not enjoy the grumpy sunshine trope. Especially when the grumpy is so extreme that it’s basically abusive. Every time Alex said sunshine I wanted throw the book away. I didn’t care for their relationship. The only character I found remotely interesting was the uncle. The plot twists didn’t really add value to the story for me. The epilogue has me intrigued for the next book but I don’t actually want to invest in this series.

This book was really good i put off reading it for awhile and then today i said screw it im going to just start this series and i was not disappointed at all Alex and Ava😍😍😍 are to die for i lovedddddd how much alex changed somewhat for the better for Ava and i loved how he never stopped trying to win her back I could just feel every emotion that came from this book it was really good this book has spice with no love triangle and no cheating with no cliffhangers and a happy ending i definitely give this book 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I definitely enjoyed the plot. But I’ve realized I’m not super into the guy who is an asshole to everyone except the one girl. Maybe I’m getting old 🤣. But I can appreciate the smut and the unfolding of some big twists. It was fascinating to me, but maybe a little too close to 50 shades for me.
