Why?

I honestly don’t mind a character who is or could be considered a  ‘Mary stu/sue.’ Which is what the love interest in this book Alex is.

Because when it really comes down to it, nobody can be perfect and whether or not, everyone wants to complain that he didn’t work for anything because he was a boy genius, I would like to remind them that Spencer Reid from criminal minds exists. And I have a feeling he may have influenced some of the characteristics Kevin to Alex. Especially the memory thing.  And while most people don’t want to believe that people like him to exist, and this is a fictional story. Yes, it’s rooted in reality by being a contemporary romance, but it was also a dark romance.

However he has plenty of flaws. Just because you’re prodigy, in something doesn’t make you a ‘flawless’.

Two books back to back with a MC into photography? Lol this one was better than the last for sure, when it came to details of photography and such. I did not know either of those books had anything to do with photography, I don’t usually read the entire blurbs I try to go in with as little info as possible most of the time.

The FMC was likeable and sweet, with a sad past. I only figured out the plot twist with Ava’s backstory only a page or two before the reveal so that was nice twist for me. I usually see plot twists coming as I am good at picking up for shadowing. I did see though the plot twist coming way early on for Alex.

Wasn’t a crazy fan of Jules but honestly we all know someone like that. There was a lot of female presence in this book, and most of it was well represented.

The ending was nice and I liked that the ending epilogue. I found the male love interest, Alex to be more of my type — major red flags and bad boy attitude haha. Is my husband like this? No, but he looks the part of being tall dark and handsome.

1 star for character likability
1 star for plot, plot twists and pacing
1 star for character development

There are a lot of TW — the book has a link to look at them. I’d read them before reading this book
