I was bored to tears. I went through the first five chapters and found nothing remotely interesting. I've seen previews of the movie adaption and was curious enough to read the book first. Now I'm not sure I'll even bother to rent the movie.

Moving on!

I enjoyed the story, but the author (a man) did annoy me with the ways he characterizes his heroine with her “faults, as a woman” continuously through the book

Not to say I didn't enjoy some scarce bits but this was extremely underwhelming

It was very slow going for me at the beginning... I found it profoundly boring to be honest, but after making it about halfway through (thanks to audiobooks) I started to enjoy it somewhat.
It might be bad to say, but I'm very glad that
SpoilerTroy got killed off,
he annoyed me from the very start.
So yes, okay, I guess I do get why people love this book so much. But for the fact that it took me 9 months! to read this book, I can't say that it's a new favourite of mine. At least it's done now.

Was a bit difficult to get into but was so worth it in the end. A wonderful story about love and life and how we must be careful who we chose to be our partners in life. A fantastic classic and I'm happy I got to read it. To those who struggle with reading classics read this in parts as I have. You'll enjoy it more.
