such a gripping read!! one of the only times i found myself unable and unwilling to think of a resolution - I let the book tell the story without cutting it off at the head (pardon the expression) 
at times a bit long-winded and drawn out, but i kinda liked it that way. very disturbing

This one was exhausting for me. A lot of triggers throughout the book and vivid story telling h to at could make your stomach hurt. I would not be comfortable recommending to someone. She’s a brilliant author though.

I might get some heat for this, but this one was almost a DNF until about 65/70% of the way in. The writing style was hard for me to get in to. I felt like I was originally getting so much back story that I kept getting lost in what was actually going on. I’m happy we got the POV from Claire and Lydia, but it all bounced all over the place a little bit. 

The ending was really great though. I love when the bad guy gets what they deserve in stories like this. There were definitely parts that hit parts of my emotions that took my by surprise. 

One thing I really think would’ve helped the book were shorter chapters. I find I read books much faster if the chapters are shorter. Not sure why, but it helps!

Though there is character development, it’s not enough to make you love the characters. Most characters are complicated and honestly stupid? Not to be harsh but a little bit.

Holy crap what did I just read?! The rest of Ms. Slaughter's books that I've read were great but this one?  Not so much. The mystery/suspense part of it were great and especially the big twist halfway through but were the graphic details of the violence really necessary? Absolutely not and after a while it really turned me off towards the book.
