I will say that the content described in this guess is very upsetting but I guess its as graphic as it needed to be based on the subject matter for the book but I really can't say for sure right now. I am quite satisfied with the conclusion this book went in as a mystery thriller novel because it like, actually commits to what makes sense and didn't back out of the story it was telling, upsetting narrative aside.
Beginning and ending chapters could have been stronger and there was definitely moments where the writing of the book made me raise my eyebrow in a skeptical way because of how unnecessary it was to me and like with all of these books it uses the scapegoat mental illness diagnosis to explain away character motivations when really they're just horrible scumbags that always leaves a bad taste.

Pretty Girls was better than False Witness but not as strong as The Good Daughter. Sisters Lydia and Claire lost their oldest sister Julia back in 1991 when Julia was 19. She disappeared one day on her way back from a party in college and was never found. In the present, Lydia has a teenage daughter and a boyfriend, while Claire's husband was just murdered. When Claire finds some incriminating material on her late husband's computer, she contacts her estranged sister for help. You will honestly not believe what happens next (yes, I know that's cliche to say).
Again, this was a good thriller but reader beware that this is very very dark.

•What did I think of this book? (Mult POV)
I haven't read any of Karin Slaughter's books before this one. And this one was dark and twisty. It begins with 3 sisters when 1 goes missing the family goes their own way, dealing with grief, their father looks for answers on what happened. Their mother drinks and never talks about her, Lydia avoids inside prescription bottles till she has her only daughter, and Claire finds love in a neat, control freak...until his death and his dark secrets come out. Shining a light on their long lost sister.. it's up to them to find out what happened to her because he wasn't the only one hiding secrets. I would definitely recommend this, and highly suggest you read the Triggers first.
