I barely liked this book. The whole concept of being "mated" to someone causing you to act like an incredibly idiotic doormat made no sense to me.

The premise of the novel is that Dr. Megan Sheridan, a genetic researcher, visits Ross Marshall, a PI, to take a blood sample so that the lab she works at can begin genetic testing. Prior to her visit, Ross was tracking a potential suspect in a series of murders and is himself injured. Megan shows up at his doorstep, finds Ross injured and nurses him back to health, in the process finds him undeniably attractive. Thrown in a complication of the said murder suspect, a suspicious police detective, and an unscrupulous employer, and you have the makings of this novel.

Overall, I found the novel merely okay. I would have liked to had Ross more developed as a character as well as Jack, the suspicious police detective. I really want to know more about him, and the next novel it seems does. For that reason alone, I'm putting the second novel of the series on my to read list. I'm a sucker for a family man.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It was well written and compelling, but it was also much darker than I was expecting which made it hard for me. I am not sure if I will be continuing with the series or not.

Well, persistent characters are good, I guess, but when it comes to history romance and h like this one I’m in a loss - is there an ounce of pride in a woman? Or this modern “I’m strong independent woman” eliminates even the smallest pretense that she really is and is capable of finding the exit, not bedroom?
Anyway, she was lusting after him for about 40% of the book, than she was terrified (though I know a lot of people who hate the fact that h accepts paranormal world too easy, still her thinking here was annoying like hell), than she suddenly accepts (cause he got her knocked up?) they fuck, last page.
Meh

“Killing Moon” is a fresh take to the paranormal world. I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy lately and is always nice to read something a little different than the usual.

In the werewolf world the authors tend to write about insta- uncontrollable-love. The men are possessive and have little respect for the women wishes. Fortunately, Ross is the opposite. He has a dark background, full of sadness and family drama. He tends to keep to himself and avoid women. Mostly because he doesn’t want to put them through all the pain his mother went. He seemed really caring and he doesn’t imposes himself to Megan when he realises that she is his mate.

I also loved the genetic explanation to the existence of werewolves. There wasn’t just mystic stuff. Just a chromosomal anomaly. The inclusion of the genetic explanation made the book more interesting.
Megan wasn’t my favourite character in the book. She seem rather plain and the dramatic background didn’t do much for me. I’m getting tired of histories with women with abusive parent issues. There is so much more to write about.

The sub-plots were good too. I actually would like to have read more about Arnott’s perspective. He was a realistic and interesting character. His and the cop perspectives really added up to the suspense.

The pacing was fast, but easy to follow. The storyline a bit predictable, but I did enjoy it a lot.

So much unnecessary background info, not enough of the couple together! imo

I really enjoyed this book - well written, good character development. I liked the whole werewolf myth in the story. Good one - I'll definitely read more from the series :)
