**Reality check**
Most people have thought of this book as ‘drill sergeant yelling at you for 30 minutes’ or as if this book is like just a motivational 10 minute youtube video with the title ‘you just need to do it’.
And I can agree with them to an extent. But it seemed a little different to me, probably because listening to the author's podcasts and realizing that the author does all the same things in the book every day for a large amount of time gives me a slightly different perspective on this work.
This book is simple. There is no strong scientific research in it, it's just personal experience without water. And I think this book could be useful to someone, especially people who have forgotten what they want, have an addiction to technology, or who have never properly finished what they wanted.
The title corresponds to the content of the book ‘manual’. It should be short, simple, clear and actionable. This book can change someone's life, especially if you implement everything it says. That's the most important thing.
And when you want to make some excuse, this book will hit you in the face with phrases that there are no shortcuts in life.
To me, this book is just a reality check.

I don't have much to say other than that this book is "thanks I'm cured" hogwash.

Sharp and direct Jocko walks you through his way of living and instructs you on how you can take what you need of that and also "Get after it "
Embrace the hard times. Seek improvement. That's the Jocko way.
This is a short read and all the better for it. Makes easier to revisit. Re-read or take in the audiobook which the man himself reads.

About as useful as a wet paper bag. Pointless book and incredibly boring.
