Heat Level: High
I'm not sure what age group this is supposed to be. It's set in high school, but it's pretty graphic with the sex. (The author's note does say it's for 17+ but is that still considered young adult?)
So when I read Paper Princess by Erin Watt I didn't realize that this is a whole subgenre...? Or did she write those books and then everyone else was "inspired" by them? I don't know, but this one felt familiar like that book series. This one even goes so far as to call some of the characters "royals."
I did enjoy the dual perspectives in this. I like reading from both Jazz and Kingston's point of views. The high school drama in this is believable. It's not really the main part of the story, so it just kind of tells us that these kids are "royalty" and everyone else has to obey them. It doesn't show us any of that though.
This is like a suspenseful romance so there's some mysterious elements to it that are intriguing. I thought the story was pretty good and the pacing done well. I liked that the ending was at the beginning and by the time I got to the real ending, I had forgotten that.
CAWPILE Score: 7.86 = 4.25 stars

Enjoyment: 8
