I really tried to get into this book, multiple times, but the FMC just isn't likeable, Nameless is borderline child-like or intellectually challenged which is a major ICK (having him not know what's going on, not because he's "dumb"). The internal monologue italics take you out of the moment. The whole writing style just doesn't flow for me at all. I wanted to like this book so much!

I love this universe, and I love Magnus so much. I came to appreciate and enjoy Delora, but it took some serious time.
Edit to finish; Delora took a long time to warm up, she has a lot of mental health issues that I realise were affecting her, but it still took some time for me to enjoy who she was; by the end I was a huge fan though. I think her and Magnus learned as much from each other as they taught. I'm really hype to read more of this series and watch the other pairings happen, but I also can't wait to see the existing couples continue to grow in the background as well.

I absolutely adored her as a mother to Fyodor (after the... teething issues) andmariellebear's review

I am addicted to this world that Opal has created. I love finding out more about duskwalkers every single installment that she writes. I also love not knowing what the MMC’s character name is and that Delora has to name him. I really am dying to know more about the Mavka’s father and who exactly he is and why he wants the Owl Witch to create all these duskwalkers. I have an idea of what she might be doing but time will tell… Five stars. And the monster smut is superior!

Wow, I liked this even more than the first & it was longer?? The writing has definitely improved & even without the threat of him eating her for most of the book I still loved it (that was what I loved most about book one). This guy however is so naive and horny lmaoooo it was so good to see all the different stages of Mavka in this one & how it affects their personalities. Very interesting & I’m SO ready to read Kitty’s book because he was so nice. I genuinely love this series even though the books are huge. Daunting each time but worth it & couldn’t put it down. I think the horniness of the characters helped
