The plot line was wonderful and the story would have been perfection if the heroine weren’t so unsure of herself and the men around her were not condescending misogynists.

I made it chapter 5 before I decided I was done. There are so many good books out there, even on Kindle Unlimited, don't waste your time on this one.
The prose is cringy and the characters are all unlikeable. The boyfriend is a gas-lighting narcissist and the narrator reinforces some of the gas-lighting of the MC. The MC is bland and does not appear to have any redeeming qualities. The, presumedly, new love interest that was just introduced before I stopped reading snatches the MC off the street and then berates her for "flaunting" the object her uncle sent her to keep safe. How many people did she show it to? Two. Her boyfriend and a museum curator. Neither of which is unreasonable even if the boyfriend is a jerk.
I rarely give a book 1 star but this one earned it.
