This book was a collection of 3 short stories rather than one longer graphic novel. The tales were very different and all captivating. One common thread was dual realities. While not as seminal a work as American Born Chinese, this is a terrific book that I would recommend to anyone preferring shorter graphic tales or looking to get an intro/addition of Yang's work. Don't read it instead of ABC though, that one should never be skipped.

Three stories told in very different art styles, each touching on the idea of shifting reality and escapism. Each individual story was lovely.

These three stories are thought-provoking and quite beautifully illustrated (in three different styles).

3.5/5 stars. Very interesting but at some points confusing and a little boring. I liked 2 out of the 3 stories.
