been playing ‘let’s stay together’ by al green and trying not to cry since finishing this

all in all, a phenomenal read with amazing characters who you truly feel for and with, and that deserve happiness in their fictional lives

I did really like this, and I loved the writing style. But I was over the sex scenes in the end, chapter after chapter after chapter. They have sex, I get it.

Beautiful story of love, loss, mental health and redemption. I really enjoyed the way this story was told. I didn’t want it to end.

I'm wiping my tears as I just finished. I LOVED this book. This is a slow-burning, swoon-worthy story about two people who go through the fire that you will root for to find their way back to each other. Yasmen and Josiah are soulmates who are now divorced, co-parenting, and running their restaurant. There are some heavy topics (death of a child, grief, depression). This book takes you through all of the emotions and healing. Black men are typically averse to therapy, so I really enjoyed cynical Josiah's interactions with his therapist. There are some great supporting characters and funny moments with Otis, the family dog. Though some of the topics are heavy, there is happiness, laughter and joy.

This was my first Kennedy Ryan book, it definitely won't be the last. Looking forward to the second book in the series.

Absolutely loved this book! The way grief was discussed was spot on! It was an amazing story that reflected real life issues and how we sometimes deal or don’t deal with things. I haven’t cried reading a book in a long time, this one got me.
