This was the perfect companion to the Fablehaven novels. I'm such a visual person, so seeing illustrations of all these creatures Mull described in the five previous books was such a fun time.

The little scribbles and annotations from various characters like Kendra, Seth, Newel, Ruth, etc. looked SUPER realistic – I actually thought someone wrote in the library book for a second 😂 If you love the Fablehaven series, this is totally a book to check out. It's a relatively quick read, and super immersive.

(If you want to continue onto Dragonwatch after this, it serves as a perfect bridge as well!)

I glanced over all of it but only thoroughly read up to the section with Nymphs. I loved what I did read because I love learning about mythical beings. If I get a chance to re-read Fablehaven, that would be a perfect time to finish reading through this book.

From the Master of magical storytelling comes the Caretaker's Guide to Fablehaven. It is beautifully illustrated and a nice companion book to the Fablehaven series, as well as whetting the appetite for the upcoming sequel series. However, it reads purely as an encyclopedia so don't expect any storytelling, and the 'hint' for the sequel wasn't very inclusive which was a bit of a shame. Look out for entries with fairies next to them, as this is a hint that the creature/ place / artefact will appear in the new series. Overall very nice collection book though.

Beautiful illustrations and pages feel great, held back by the “live laugh love”  like quotes

The illustrations were gorgeous, the little annotations from all the characters were adorable and added lots of humour, and the overall layout was really easy to read and understand.

A great companion read for fans of FableHaven / DragonWatch!

This is everything I ever wanted. Essentially, Fablehaven Wikipedia with fewer spoilers.
