This wasn’t what I’ve learned to expect from Jackson’s work. I kept expecting a twist, but it never came. This just felt like a cross between The Hate U Give and On The Come Up by Angie Thomas falling short of both. I enjoyed it nonetheless, but I wanted more.

Pretty good. All the music mentioned really brought me back to high school and put a story to the struggle. I enjoyed listening to this.

I loved the concept so much. However, I felt like there was some emotional connection to the characters and to the story that was missing. I also felt like there was too many storylines going on at the same time, which detracted from the storytelling.

Jasmine was the best character as she was well fleshed out and had such a strong personality.
