(reread) I wish I could put into words how I feel about this one but the series is so dear to me and this being the last book is so emotional. I’ll forever love this series I think

A weak ending to an otherwise okay series. The start was better than the end and Shans ending here is not good. It’s got its moments but the concept of the end feels like a retread of Cirque Du Freak. Resets aren’t the vibe.

Okay I lied. Not EVERYTHING about this series is great. The very end feels like a tiny bit of a copout.... but still a good series if you take it moment by moment

Kind of have mixed feelings. While the ending was much better than that of the Cirque De Freak series, "the main bad guy" was never defeated and the obviousness of Bec not going to the otherside was just that: too obvious--didn't fit her character in the least. I did like the Karma toward Grubbs' eye though, definitely deserved it. Still Kernal and his character is probably my favorite.

I’m rereading a lot of my library trying to decide what I keep. I had last read this series in middle school and was obsessed. I couldn’t remember anything really about The Demonata and I’m honestly disappointed that this didn’t hold up over time. I know it’s a YA book but it was quite cheesy. Every time you started the next book you spent have the time reading a summary of what happened previously. The main character Grubbs was okay in the beginning but got progressively more annoying and one dimensional as the series unfolded. I enjoyed Bec and wished there had been more narration from her perspective.

Hell’s Heroes is a satisfying ending to The Demonata series! It’s really creative and, while the gore might be a lot for some people to handle, I found reading these books to be peppered with just the right amount of absurd quirkiness.
