I loved everything about this book -- exposure to historical fiction, in depth and supremely real characters (but actually real! based on real Vancouver people!), nonlinear timelines, epic sweeping stories, crazy wrestling mixed in to stories of sexuality, racism, sexism, the author and his ability to actually put himself into the book -- right up until the end where I felt let down.
Every time I think about this book, I wish I was the editor and I could get my hands on it to rewrite the ending. Still, read it.

I liked the setting and the characters were unique and engaging, but the story itself didn't grab me. I got tired of the 'aboot' for 'about' and 'a' for 'of' all the time. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could, but since it's whole stars only rating system, I'll bump it up to 3.
