Learned a lot about the Ferguson protests and Black history! The stories could jump all over the place at times which could be confusing and felt disjointed. Overall an important and educational book

DeRay McKesson shares his experiences from the 2014 Ferguson protests and expands to discuss history, oppression, activism, and offers a framework on how to move forward in a way that centers racial and social justice.

I listened to this one on audiobook and while I a) found McKesson's writing clear and powerful, and b) usually love listening to authors narrate their own memoirs, I had to work extra hard to comprehend this one because of McKesson's speaking style, I think just the cadence of his speech, the way he drops the ends of his sentences...hopefully I can at some point fit in a re-read with my eyeballs.
