While I enjoyed this book, a good portion of the storylines I just didn't really care for. Outside of Cutter/Apsalar, Tavore/Sha'ik, Trull/Onrak the other storylines didn't do much for me.
I'm sure that on a reread this book will probably be better since a good portion of the book introduces details and plots that won't come into play until the later books. Without the knowledge of how those plots play out later, I can't appreciate the setup as much. It's a very similar situation to my first time reading A Feast for Crows, I didn't really enjoy that book initially but after reading ADWD and rereading AFFC my appreciation for the book increased a lot. I'll reread this in the future and see how my opinion changes.
