Ok, so I didn't read the first book and I worried that I'd be confused or feel like I started in the middle of a story. Unlike other books though, you really don't have to have read the first book in order to enjoy this one. It's a great stand alone book. It's a very sweet story. Slow build up to them getting intimate contradicts the male slut who's just out for a good time wherever he can get it label Kieran's given himself. Overall I greatly enjoyed reading Kieran's story. He totally deserved a happy ending.

I loved reading Kieran's story. He was one of the MCs in the previous book and I'm glad he got his HEA.

Again, the characters are interesting, engaging and super hot lol. The way the relationship builds is also lovely to read. I'm looking forward to the rest of these now.

This is a sweet and hot story with a simple but satisfying arc. Kieran is a man who has decided that long-term relationships are a gamble that nobody wins, so he is into superficial sex with friends and strangers and thinks it's going well. Then he meets Alex, a young man who has left a stifling closeted small-town life for the big city, college and finding out who he is. Alex is a complete virgin, hasn't even been kissed. He's so not the easy fuck-buddy type that Kieran is looking for. But Kieran's first times were not stellar, and he doesn't want sweet, gorgeous Alex to have someone take advantage of his lack of experience and get hurt. Kieran figures the least he can do is get Alex started right. And in trying to help Alex have the best possible introduction to gay identity and gay sex, Kieran finds himself becoming a little obsessed. Just because Alex is so hot, of course...

This was well written and easily held my attention for a fast, smooth read. I was very taken by Kieran and how he tried so hard to do everything right while refusing to admit to himself that he cared for Alex in any way beyond sex. In fact, I think this will probably be a comfort reread for me.

This was enjoyable. I think the fact that I can't think of much to say says why I took off half a star - because Alex and Kieran were cute (and hot) but this was very fast paced and there wasn't too much plot to it except the romance (not a bad thing, just that it felt almost like a 'porn with feelings' type story and less like a story story). I did love that LA Witt included many scenes of these two talking and getting to know each other - i love seeing the falling in love process more than just having it told to me.

Definitely enjoyable, pretty quick read (the only reason it took me more than day was because of RL shit happening). Nothing spectacular but still a cute, fun read :)

3.5 - I have had a good stretch of books this week where there MCs do not go through too much angst and it makes me happy! The Closer You Get falls into that category. Kieran, a self professed slut meets Alex a true to the bones virgin (never been kissed by ANYONE) and we get treated to a look through the window as Alex gets his sexual education and they stroll down the street towards an actual monogamous relationship. Poor Kieran, has a rough go as he realizes he is in love, but he is able to get past it and finds the risk worth it in the end.

I liked the premise, I didn't like the execution. Not to mention that Alex is too naive to be believable. Okay, he lived in some little old hicktown and was scared of coming out. I can get the still being a virgin and not having even kissed someone. But never having seen porn and some of the naive questions he asks are just a little too unbelievable. He's been in Seattle for a year, so he has had plenty of time to put the internet to use without fear of his family back home knowing. Not to mention that he describes himself as a bookworm. I consider myself quite the bookworm, and by the time I hit junior high, I knew more about sex that I ever planned to, just from reading. L.A. Witt is becoming more and more an author whose books just don't work for me.

Kieran gets his own love story in this one and it a real delight.

The virgin and the manwhore is an absolutely perfect description of these two men who fall in love not only without really realising it, but also because it accurately highlights the wonderful trope used in this opposites attract romance.

Kieran is, of course, the roommate who helped Ethan and Rhett realise they still loved each other and who ended up with Seb for a short while. He's unashamedly honest about how much he loves sex and avoids relationships so this book took great delight in having him fall for the inexperienced Alex.

I loved this pair, as they clumsily found themselves slipping into a monogamous relationship without even realising while the world around them watched them fall in love.

This book's hot, with lots of first times for everything and Alex proves to be an adept pupil. It also has a wonderful epilogue and lots of appearances from the rest of the series' cast.

Ok so wow! This book was very a interesting read for me, for about two thirds of the book I alternated between really liking Keiran (one of the MCs), really not liking him, and feeling like there was something he was hiding from me, so I didn't really know who he was. Overall his character won me over and by the very end I wanted to give him a big hug...But it was a lot of back and forth.

Keiran pretty much introduces himself as a slut to everyone he knows. He 'claims it', 'owns it', 'is confident enough to say it', 'he loves sex', 'sleeping around is the best'...WHATEVER. So one night while hanging out at a friend's house, his friend's daughter Sabrina asks him to help her friend Alex out. He is recently out of the closet, and has NO experience of ANY kind sexually or romantically. Since Keiran is a World Class Slut (with a heart of course) he might be just the guy to show Alex the ropes of the Seattle gay scene.

They hit if off, and decided that they can do a little experiment. Keiran wants to help Alex in figuring out sex, in a safe way where he won't get hurt. Alex is up for it. He trusts Keiran and they get along so well. Keiran really is a good man, if so emotionally stunted its a miracle he can let other people touch him. But he is all about the sex, so they get on with 'the tutorials' and well, it goes from there.

This book was sweet, really funny and VERY SEXY, but it wasn't really a light read for me. I felt sad for Keiran, like he was protecting himself from something the whole time, like who he said he was, was not the truth. I wish there could have been more of him and Alex together and open to love, there was so little of that. They worked so well together, the chemistry was amazing, but more than once I thought,"I wish this was more than just sex"...I mean I knew it was, but it wasn't at the same time.

The sex was SUPER HOT, and it got progressively more intense, as their own feelings (even if they were both totally hiding from them) became more intense too.

Overall I liked this book a lot, and the ending was SO PRECIOUS. So I would recommend it. I just felt I got something different than what I was expecting from reading the blurb. Oh, and for most of the book I was totally annoyed with Rhett and Ethan.

This was pure fluffy smut and I loved it. The sex was smoking hot. The evolution of the relationship between Alex and Kieran was sweet. Overall a quick, fun read.
