As Nathan and Allison set foot on German ground, their story is caught in the throng of angst and danger as their carefully thought out lies start to whisper. Within a great spiral of mysteries and rising terror, the tension runs a thick course through the chapters as the plot unfolds. Warned to trust nobody in the land of enemies, Nathan and Allison turn to their allies to face the unwavering brutality of the War and those who lead it. 

An Affair of Spies shows the small intricacies of love, emotion, and friendship in a time that was led by the hateful Adolf Hitler and his inner circle. In a country designed to kill, the two spies discover themselves within each other as the war rages around them and the truth draws nearer. 

Though the writing was for a certain niche of readers, and the ending rather anticlimactic, with great descriptions and explanations, Ronald H. Balson brought the complicated inner workings of World War II and Nuclear Fission to a basic level of understanding.

 A gripping read that follows the fictional characters, Allison and Nathan, in the real history of the devastating Second World War.
