به اندازه "آدم های معمولی" دوستش نداشتم ولی خیلی از مطالعه اش لذت بردم، سبکی که سلی رونی می‌نویسه در ظاهر خیلی ساده و حتی تا اندازه‌ای خنثی به نظر میرسه ولی از نظر من این نوع نوشتن تعریف دقیق عبارت "سهل ممتنع" هست. با ساده ترین حالت ممکن و حتی جملاتی که شاید در نگاه اول بی معنی به نظر برسن توانایی این رو داره که عمیق ترین احساسات و حالات روحی شخصیت هارو به مخاطب منتقل کنه از احساسات و حالاتی حرف میزنم که شاید خیلی از نویسنده‌ها غیرقابل توصیف وصفش کنند. از نظر من استایل سلی رونی مثل یک رودخانه خیلی کوچک میمونه آرام و جاری.

I did not care about any of these characters! They were all generally unlikable. I really tried to finish this but it felt like a chore to read. The dialogue felt plodding and not true to life. Hoping I like Normal People more.

I really love how difficult the relationships are in Sally Rooney books. It makes them feel so relatable and gets me to think. I wish Nick had been a little more likable but I still really enjoyed this book.
