A quick audiobook read.
Things to like:
- the voice was strong: descriptive & immersive.
- interesting world building, playing on the idea of fallen angels & the segregated society that develops as a result.
-the main character was morally gray, willing to do what it took to protect her sister, even if it meant burning all her bridges along the way.

Wow. What a great little, other-wordly story about good and evil. It was as good as I expected after reading the synopsis in the bookstore, and then it got better.

I might change this rating as the year progresses. I enjoyed this story, but I think I just wasn’t quite prepared for a tragedy. I liked the characters and the world, and even the mystery. It just hast hit me the way some other books have so far this year.

Started and finished in one sitting. Although it is a short book, the plot was addicting and I couldn’t stop reading. The characters quickly drew me in, Celeste was such a relatable character as an older sister and I truly understood her desperation to save her sister. The world building is unique yet very simple to grasp and understand. The ending is the most heart wrenching and frustrating ending, leaving me feeling like what was it all for? Yet I think it is the perfect ending.
