One of the best books I’ve ever read. I think I had an idea of what it was about when I started it, but that idea was completely wrong in all the best ways. This books surprised me, made me emotional, really connected with me and was weirdly familiar even though nothing in my life is at all the same as anything happening to the characters. I loved it so so much and now I need to read all of Caroline O’Donoghue’s other books!

Fun, quick read. Crappy apartments, crappy jobs, trying to find love and solace in their 20s; this is a character study of James and Rachel. I read a lot of English books, but learned some delightful new Irishisms from this one. Was rooting for Rachel and loved where the book ended up. I think CO'D captured the messy grossness of early 20s life (without direction or security) in the 2010s really authentically.
